Description
A fun and cheesy dinner that combines the flavors of tacos and pizza, perfect for weeknights.
Ingredients
- Pizza crust: store bought dough, pre-baked crust, or homemade
- Ground beef: or ground turkey or chicken
- Taco seasoning: packet or homemade blend
- Water: for the seasoning mix
- Refried beans: optional
- Salsa or taco sauce: for flavoring the base
- Cheese: shredded cheddar, Mexican blend, or pepper jack
- Lettuce: shredded, added after baking
- Tomatoes: diced
- Red onion: thin sliced, optional
- Black olives: optional
- Sour cream or Greek yogurt: for drizzling
- Avocado or guacamole: optional
Instructions
- Prep the oven and crust by heating it to 425°F to 450°F and placing it on a baking sheet.
- Cook the taco meat by browning ground beef, draining grease, and adding taco seasoning and water.
- Build the layers by spreading salsa or taco sauce on the crust, followed by refried beans, taco meat, and cheese.
- Bake until the cheese is melted and the crust is cooked through, about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Add cool toppings such as lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and drizzle sour cream on top.
Notes
For a sturdier slice, use a thicker crust or pre-bake the dough for a few minutes. Let the pizza rest before slicing to keep toppings intact.
