- Optional toppings: cherry tomatoes, olives, or caramelized onions
- A sprinkle of garlic powder for added flavor
Instructions
- Combine your active sourdough starter and room temperature water in a large bowl until smooth.
- Add the bread flour gradually, stirring until no dry flour remains, then mix in the salt.
- Let the dough rest for about 30 minutes for autolyse.
- Fold the dough by stretching and folding for about 5 minutes until smoother and more elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for 4 to 6 hours at room temperature.
- Oil a baking sheet and transfer the dough, spreading it out gently.
- Dimple the surface with your fingertips, making deep wells.
- Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt and fresh herbs.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and bake for 30-45 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
