Description
A comforting and creamy chicken dish, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Start by seasoning your chicken breasts. Pat them dry with a paper towel, then sprinkle them with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and sear each side for about 5-6 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and place it on a plate. In the same skillet, add diced onions and minced garlic. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes.
- Pour in the chicken broth and stir well, scraping the bottom of the skillet. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Lower the heat and add the sour cream, stirring continuously until well combined.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it with the creamy mixture. Top with shredded cheddar cheese. Cover and simmer for another 10-15 minutes.
- Before serving, taste the sauce and adjust seasoning as necessary. Sprinkle with chopped parsley for garnish.
Notes
Serve over rice or mashed potatoes for a complete meal. Avoid boiling the sauce after adding sour cream to prevent curdling.
