Description
A vibrant seafood boil featuring shrimp, crab, and flavorful spices, perfect for summer gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1–2 pounds fresh shrimp, deveined and shell-on
- 1–2 pounds crab legs (snow or king crab preferred)
- 2–3 medium potatoes, cut into quarters
- 2–3 ears corn on the cob, cut into halves
- 1–2 pounds andouille sausage, sliced
- 1/2 cup Old Bay seasoning (or to taste)
- 4–5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1–2 lemons, halved
- 1–2 sticks butter, for flavor
- Water, enough to fill your pot
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
- Optional: smoked sausage, clams or mussels, hot sauce
Instructions
- Fill a large pot with water, enough to cover your ingredients. Add minced garlic, Old Bay seasoning, and a few lemon halves.
- Bring the pot to a boil over high heat. Once bubbling, toss in the potatoes and boil for about 10-12 minutes until fork-tender.
- Add the sausage to the pot and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Toss in the corn halves and let it cook for another 3-5 minutes.
- Add the shrimp and crab legs to the pot, cooking for 3-5 minutes until tender and juicy.
- Stir everything carefully to ensure even cooking. Remove from heat and squeeze the remaining lemon juice over the mixture, then toss in fresh parsley.
- Drain the water using a colander and pour your seafood boil onto butcher paper or newspaper for a fun dining experience.
Notes
Consider using chicken sausage for a lighter option or vegetable substitutes for a vegetarian version.
