A delightful dessert featuring juicy peaches and a pecan-studded cake layer, reminiscent of summer picnics.

- 2 cans of sliced peaches in syrup (about 29 oz each) or 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup of pecans, chopped
- 1 box of yellow cake mix
- 1 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)
- Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Drain your canned peaches, reserving about half a cup of juice.
- In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, evenly distribute the peaches across the bottom.
- Pour the reserved juice over the peaches.
- Combine the yellow cake mix and melted butter.
- Sprinkle the cake mix mixture over the peaches in the baking dish.
- Top the cake mix layer with chopped pecans.
- Pop the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 45 minutes.
- Once done, take it out of the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, use a gluten-free cake mix. You can substitute pecans with walnuts or almonds if desired.
