Description
A delightful combination of sweet and savory flavors with tender chicken, perfect for weeknight dinners or entertaining guests.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced (optional)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Begin by prepping the chicken. Trim off any excess fat and cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger (if using), apple cider vinegar, and sesame oil.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a little oil. Toss in the chicken pieces, seasoning lightly with salt and pepper.
- Sear the chicken until it’s golden brown on the outside, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken in the skillet. Stir everything together and let it simmer for another 10 minutes.
- Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions just before serving.
Notes
For a vegan option, replace chicken with tofu or tempeh. Serve over cauliflower rice for a low-carb alternative.
