Description

A delightful one-pan hamburger casserole that’s easy to make and perfect for the whole family.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey as a leaner option)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup uncooked pasta (like elbow macaroni or penne)
  • 2 cups beef broth (or chicken broth for lighter flavor)
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar works wonderfully!)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or chili powder, for added flavor
  • Optional toppings: chopped green onions, sour cream, or extra cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until it’s no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, uncooked pasta, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
  5. Mix in the shredded cheese, reserving some for topping. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish or leave it in the skillet if oven-safe. Bake uncovered for about 10 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven, let it sit for a few minutes, and garnish with green onions or sour cream if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
