Description
A quick and flavorful Garlic Butter Chicken recipe perfect for busy weeknights or impressing guests.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 5–6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Start by heating a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add 2 tablespoons of butter and let it melt, coating the pan nicely.
- While the butter is melting, pat your chicken thighs dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Place the seasoned chicken thighs, skin-side down, into the skillet. Sear for about 7-8 minutes until the skin is golden brown.
- Flip the chicken thighs and cook for another 7-8 minutes, then prepare your garlic butter.
- Once the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F, remove it from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, toss in the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the lemon juice, then return the chicken to the skillet, coating it in the garlic butter.
- Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for an additional 2-3 minutes and top with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Serve over mashed potatoes, with sautéed green beans, or garlic bread. Can substitute chicken thighs with breasts or drumsticks.
