Description

Enjoy the comforting Canadian classic, Easy Poutine with Cheese Curds & Brown Gravy, featuring crispy fries, rich gravy, and melty cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag (16 oz) Frozen French fries or homemade
  • 1 cup Cheese curds
  • 1 package (or 2 cups) Brown gravy mix
  • Water: as needed for gravy
  • Salt & pepper: to taste
  • Optional toppings: chopped green onions, cooked chicken or beef bacon

Instructions

  1. Begin by cooking the frozen French fries according to the package instructions, baking or frying them until golden and crispy.
  2. While the fries are cooking, prepare the gravy by boiling water in a saucepan and whisking in the gravy mix until smooth.
  3. Season the gravy with salt and pepper, keeping it warm on low heat.
  4. Once the fries are freshly cooked, place them on a serving plate and pour the hot gravy over them.
  5. Scatter the cheese curds generously on top of the gravy, optionally placing them in the oven to melt slightly.
  6. Finish with any optional toppings of your choice.

Notes

For a healthier option, substitute sweet potato fries and use a low-sodium gravy mix. Refrigerate leftovers for up to three days.
