- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into patties and place them in a greased baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup with the beef broth. Pour this mixture over the hamburger steaks in the baking dish.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 25 minutes.
- After 25 minutes, remove the foil and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top. Bake uncovered for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a lighter option, consider using turkey or chicken, and for a vegetarian version, try lentils or chickpea patties. Whole grain breadcrumbs can add fiber.
