Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Cream the softened butter until fluffy, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly. Stir in the vanilla extract and buttermilk.
- Incorporate the dry mixture into the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples and nuts (if using).
- Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan, sprinkling cinnamon and sugar on top if desired.
