Description

A rich and flavorful Cajun Cream Sauce that adds a kick of heat to pasta, grilled chicken, and seafood.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Start by heating the olive oil and butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Once the butter is melted and begins to foam, toss in the minced garlic and chopped onion. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the onions are translucent and fragrant.
  2. Sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Stir everything together and let it cook for about a minute.
  3. Now, slowly pour in the heavy cream while continuously stirring. Bring it to a gentle simmer for about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Taste the sauce and season with salt and pepper as desired. Adjust the spice level if necessary.
  5. Once it’s at your desired consistency, remove the saucepan from the heat. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
