- 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 package of refrigerated pie crusts
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon sugar (for sprinkling)
- Optional: Caramel sauce or whipped cream for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine the diced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and lemon juice in a mixing bowl.
- Roll out your pie crust and cut out circles about 3 inches in diameter.
- Place a small spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each circle.
- Fold the dough over the filling to create half-moons and seal the edges with a fork.
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle sugar on top.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with caramel or serve with whipped cream if desired.
